A story-map of the journey, drawn for this edition without lettering. The names and dates are set on top of the picture, and only dates stated in the memoir are used. Venlaw’s post office is named, but the memoir gives it no year. On a narrow screen the map scrolls sideways. It replaces the map screenshot in the 2011 addendum, which is not republished. Distances he gives: about thirty miles from Dauphin to the homestead, eighteen to the railroad work at Sifton, five to the Venlaw post office, thirty-two miles on foot to Dauphin for supplies, twenty miles from Venlaw to Ethelbert for the play.
